SPA REVIEW | Alpha Massage in Timog (2021)

Alpha Massage Tomas Morato Pasay BGC

Quick review of Alpha Massage in Timog

Visited this place in July 2021. It was a Wednesday, not so crowded. If I were to describe how I felt about the whole visit, it would be like this:  It felt like a hidden space in that alley, meant to blend in a sea of commercial buildings. Needless to say, the conspicuous building is easy to miss especially at night when the huge letter A embossed on the building facade and door is not visible.

Grand Receiving Area

So I, along with a friend pushed the door open. Spacious lobby with pristine white as main motif. The ceiling is high, gives off a "sosyal" feeling especially that there is a chandelier adorning the whole space. There are other items too meant to accentuate the glam ambiance it promises to its clients - such as the classic phone and fancy sofa.

Did I like it? Sure I did.

The ladies on the counter are warm. They explain the services and availability with precision. They were after all trained for this. And so after getting our locker keys, me and my friend headed to the locker area.

The Locker & Wet Area

In order to reach the locker, one needs to pass by the push-through door (de-tulak), and just behind is a corridor that leads to the changing room. What surprised me was the disco lights on a rather dark room - I thought it was too contradicting against the posh feels it gave from the lobby. No, it was a complete anti-thesis to the supposed glam I felt earlier. But what the heck, I told myself.

So I ignored the dizzying movements of lights and changed to my towel.

My eyes were navigating the area. Just beside the lockers are the two toilets and four shower stalls. The toilets are quite narrow. Not much space to move into, while the walls are covered in faux marble-themed linoleum. The building was still new after all so I was not expecting too much. The shower stalls on the other hand are divided by milky glass walls.

Adjacent to the shower stalls are the steam and sauna. I have only seen the steam since it was not so crowded. The inside of the steam is spacious with an attached shower cubicle on the corner. The steam was pretty decent, you'll sweat when you stay inside. There's faint light to help you find your way inside the steam so you don't go tripping or sliding.

Beside the steam is the sauna, but I didn't really felt like visiting that time. I headed directly to the lounge (hoping I can find some alcohol, yes - being the alcoholic that I am/was).
