2019 UAAP Cheerdance Competition

Today 13.11.2019, the UP Men's Basketball team finally bowed down to rival UST after a 68-65 buzzer beater finale of Game 2. It not only ended the repeat of Battle of Katipunan, but also sealed UP's spot behind UST without ever winning any game against UST. At the end of the day, this is sports and may the strongest always win at the championship.

The last bastion and silverlining would perhaps be the UP Pep Squad's performance. Will it be a yay or nay? Let's all find out this Sunday, 17.11.2019.

And so the die has been cast. UP Pep Squad retained its sixth position among the eight participating schools.

So many view points to consider regarding the dismal results. And no, this article will not be pointing fingers nor attempt to suggest any changes. These things are better left with the hands of the real experts.

What this article is pointing out,

1. The level of difficulty of National University has become too complex. BUT, if you look at the history of the scores in  UAAP, the highest ever point is held by UST.

2. The UP Pep Squad is a force to reckon with, and will always be. They can end up at the end of the rankings but the crowd remembers their glory days and hopeful that one day they will come back.

3. Naysayers will always have something to say. But it doesn't mean that they are right, nor they are wrong. BUT it is fitting that everyone leave this job to the experts i.e. coaches and trainors. They will know better what to do.

4. Let's leave the costumes alone. Maroon is beautiful and it blends well with the blue mat. Besides, there is no costume factor involved when judging the whole performance. Ateneo for the most part is abundant with props and all their glittery costumes, but UP is not as provided for compared to other teams. Most of us in UP live through the generosity of our parents and friends. If one is lucky to be from an affluent background, most of them choose to live the frugal way. 

5. Hopefully, when UP Pep Squad springs back onto its feet to claim what used to be theirs, people won't forget that they had to go through hell to reach that point.
