SPA REVIEW | SM Kenko ( Pasay )

SM Kenko in Pasay

I have always thought of visiting SM Kenko (no, this is not in any way related to SM Malls; and why they called it SM Kenko is also a mystery to me), ever since I started my spa journey in the Philippines. It is only this 2019 that I was able to do so.

Quick Facts

Opening Hours, 11am - 2am Everyday
Average Cost, 980 PhP (unlimited time of stay)
Rooms, Common or Private Available
Therapist, Male and Female

How To Get There

When not taking Grab or driving a private vehicle, here is how you can reach SM Kenko.
  • From LRT Gil Puyat, take a jeepney ride heading towards SM Mall of Asia.
  • Before crossing the other side of Roxas Boulevard, get off and look for the big sign board of Networld Hotel and Casino.
  • Enter the hotel lobby and proceed to 6th floor.

What To Do Inside

Once you reach the 6th floor, please follow the suggested practice
  • Remove shoes and deposit in the counter
  • Collect your locker keys
  • First curtain near the desk is for ladies; Second curtain for the gents
  • When you enter the gents area, look for the slippers on your right side and wear them inside
  • Look for your locker; If you find difficulty looking for your locker, approach the staff for assistance
  • Remove all articles of clothing and take out the small towel; Big towel is not allowed in the wet area
  • Leave your slippers before stepping inside the wet area

What's Inside?
  • Inside you will find the following: Dry Sauna, Steam, Hot Pool and Cold Pool
  • Feel free to use any of them but be sure to take a shower before dipping in the pools
  • Also, stay hydrated and do not simmer in the sauna for too long; the steam tends to release asphyxiating smoke
Average Cost
  • 980 PhP for massage inclusive of wet area
  • 600 PhP if wet area only
  • 300 PhP average cost of food in the lobby
  • 10 PhP for every extra towel so try to bring your own if you intend to use multiples

Massage

Rating, 7 / 10 ( average, highest still goes to New York Spa )
Recommended male therapist, John
  • Pressure is a little inconsistent but acceptable.
  • Don't forget to remind the therapist NOT to perform the head crack because it really felt dangerous.

The Lounge and Restaurant

Reached through a staircase going up (same way when coming inside), the restaurant that doubles as a foot spa and lounge is where you go once done with the wet are.

TIP: Ask for existing promotion/offer before ordering anything.

When done eating, you can come back to the wet area and prep up to leave.

Tipping

Tipping is not compulsory, but as wage of personnel in the spa industry is not high, it would be appreciated to leave some.

Suggested tip is from 100 PhP = 2 USD.
