JOURNAL | Letting Go

Letting Go

How does one become a prolific writer? More importantly, how does one live off with writing when there is not much to write about nor earn from it?

Just some of the questions that baffles me after checking out the many job opportunities advertised from Upwork.com; the funny thing is, there are actually a lot of requirements but most of these jobs require high level of writing skills or at least some experience to write about them.

I have come to terms that I am not a travel blogger since I do not travel a lot (and believe me, I would rather stay home if I can); nor am I a relationship specialist. Definitely not anything that concerns scientific, book publications, cooking, etc.

Now that I think about these things and when I look at how this blog has been - going on for years without a clear focus as to what it wants to achieve; well, it's just sad. I did not intend the blog to zero in on too specific subjects, and in the process made it too ambivalent for any reader to follow.

Pinoy In The City replaced its previous name "Expat In The City" started in 2007. It was called "A World of My Own" which made sense to me that time after creating the blog when I was confined on a dormitory in South Korea. The blog initially discussed about personal issues, my aspirations and angst in life. Later one, some of my academic journals were transferred to the blog just because there is no other place to put them. I started travelling hither and thither; noting of my observations about the world.

But it all stopped. It stopped when I entered the corporate world. It stopped when I realized that nobody really cares about what I think of the world and my personal issues. After all, we all go through our personal battles.

Perhaps the key is to stop complaining about how miserable and fucked up life is. It's time to let go of negative emotions and embrace the positive.

If this blog is to continue on existing, then it better contribute something good to mankind. I claim that. #
