MOVIE REVIEW | Aftermath (2017)

Aftermath (2017)

After a long time, Arnold Schwarzenegger has starred in a drama film about a man who lost his wife and daughter from a midair collision. Loosely based on real events that took place in Germany.

Okay, so here's the thing- for movie goers who have been so accustomed to the Terminator series, it's really difficult to veer away from seeing Arnold's character detached from the Terminator.

I mean his acting didn't show much difference as to what we've seen in the Terminator series. Take away all the action and you get "Aftermath".

So all in all, the movie failed to establish a credible character for Arnold. Or perhaps the casting itself was the problem. Arnold was simply not fit for the role.

Further, under the direction of Elliott Lester - I felt that there was excessive establishing shots that did not add much value to the film as a whole.

I wonder how this would have been different if Mel Gibson or Clint Eastwood had taken the job instead.
