Manny Pacquaio Continues to Draw Flak for Controversial Statement


If you are a person of some stature, you are automatically an opinion maker. Anything that will come out of your mouth will reflect your personality. Positive or negative, these statements create a lingering feeling to everyone who hears it.





In the recent case of Manny Pacquaio's derogatory remark towards the LGBT, it mattered a lot for several reasons. Of course Manny Pacquiao is famous here and abroad. However, more than the popularity is the glaring fact that bigotry and discrimination has been shown to the highest level complicated with the unnerving use of the Bible and God as justifications for such statements.

No wonder people are now up in arms against Manny. But guess what, Manny has quickly issued an apology trying to sort out the mess he's made. That if not celebrities have spoken against this barbaric display of mentality, Manny won't even bat an eye in condemning LGBTs as lower forms of animals.







But at the end of the day, it will all boil down to the fact that we as humans are entited to our opinions, but not entitled to step on the dignity of others. LGBTs are hardworking people and contributes significantly to the country. Being different does not mean being evil. At this point, let me just quote what Pope Francis has to say-
