History
Chef Fernando Aracama's culinary journey has taken him around the world
and finally, he has come back home. Influenced and inspired by the flavors of
his cherished home island of Negros and the memorable family style service of
the Filipino people, Chef Fernando proudly showcases a well thought of menu
highlighting delicious regional Filipino cuisine with sincerity, respect for
tradition, fresh new ideas and his inimitable sense of humor.
Aracama's beautiful modern Filipino interiors are warm, bright &
cheery. Natural-toned wood panels & louvers contrast the tall glass walls
filtering in a steady sunny glow into the main hall. Private dining rooms for
small & intimate gatherings complete the restaurant's interiors. As the sun
sets, Aracama slowly transforms into a sophisticated venue with an open-air
terrace overlooking the dynamic skyline of Bonifacio Global City. Velvet
curtains and walls of green living gardens, large teak wood planks and soft
lighting create a cool tropical atmosphere. Two full service cocktail bars
feature Aracama's amazing signature drinks lovingly mixed, shaken or stirred
with the best local liquors, spirits and fresh seasonal fruits and herbs.
Dazzling cocktails, honest homegrown food all personally served with
that unique, genuinely friendly Filipino touch is what await you at this new
Filipino convivial dining experience.
Come home to Aracama, Manila's finest Filipino restaurant and cocktail
bar.
What I Like About The Place
The Bar
Although a little pricey (cocktails start from 200 and above + 10%
service charge), it surely looks it has everything in it.
Not only that, they also serve free water (amazing!). For a salsero to dance in
hours, free water is a necessity.
Wooden Floor
By far, Aracama has the best dancing floor I have visited in the
Philippines. It is so spacious that ten couples could probably fit at a time.
When left alone, a couple can execute far advanced salsa routines which makes
it an ideal venue for those who would like to brush up on their salsa
techniques.
Tables and Chairs
All made of wood, the tables and chairs add extra chic element to the
whole Filipino inspired interior. It's very comfortable to sit, and tables are
lighted by candles.
The Toilet
Okay, I must admit that the toilet is one of the very first areas I
check, and Aracama has a fine toilet, with incandescent lighting and complete
with soap and tissue. You can't ask for more. The interior in the toilet is
very well thought of and you would feel like staying inside as long as you can.
Aircondition
Did I just say that the hall is airconditioned? Yes, it is. And the
temperature is just enough to keep you from sweating a lot. Perfect for dancers
who become faucet after hours of dancing.
Playlist
On Thursday nights, when the DJ is in the house the playlist includes 2
kizomba, 2 salsa and 2 bachata. Just enough to keep all the genre of dancers
satisfied.
Crowd
The crowd is a mix of people from their 30s and above, seemingly from
well to do backgrounds and professionals. There were also a number of DIs who accompany guests.
Overall, I definitely recommend this place to all salsa enthusiasts.
San Mig light is 90 PhP, Mojito De Aracama is 280 PhP
DI, is a short term for Dance Instructor. In the Philippines, DIs are
professional dancers who are accompanying their clients in dancing venues.
Normally they exclusively dance with their clients only, but on their own they can
dance with anyone. This is in contrast with the Middle East where gentlemen are
expected to dance with as many ladies in the floor.
