TRAVEL | Sea Food, Balut and Bingo

Sea Food, Balut and Bingo

Mother had to go to work today. She prepared breakfast or something like that. I thought I had to add something up on the table so bought some things on the shore, washed a few dishes and set the table. It was a very simple breakfast but I put a lot of effort into it.

Monday. February 28, 2011.

Sea Food

Not exactly what we ate, but just so to give you an idea.

Silangang Nayon (East Village) Restaurant
For lunch they wanted sea food. I asked my father about the best place for sea food and we went to Silangang Nayon (East Village). The sea food restaurant was splendid. Not that the architecture was amazing, but the scenery was all you need to feel the authentic sea life. It was great. It was my first time to be there.

We ordered shrimps, crabs, and oysters. We also had coconut juice in the coconut shell. The food was not as tasty as one would wish for but it was enough for people like us who haven’t had lunch yet.

Jeenyong kept on asking for big shrimps but there were no big shrimps. I thought we could still buy from the fish port but everything was gone as well. I guess no big shrimp for Jeenyong this time.

SM Grocery and Bingo

Attempting to cook something Korean cuisine for my family, Kino and Jeenyong tried to buy Korean ingredients at the grocery. Originally it was Gamjatang (감자탕) but the main meat was pork so father couldn’t eat it. We changed it to Buchechige (부채지개). However, there was no guchuchang or pepper paste so we had to forget about the Buchechige as well. We ended up in Pajon or Korean pizza.

Since I had to download something, I stayed in the computer shop for a while. When I called Kino where they were, they said they were playing Bingo.

They met this old woman in the bingo house and gave them some bingo cards. Then when I sat, the bingo staff gave me some cards as well and we played all together. Playing for the blackout round with a pot money of P30,000.00, we almost won with only two numbers left. What a shame we had to go home empty handed. I wonder what we could have done with the P30,000.00. We could have spent that on something luxurious.

Balut

On the way home, Jeenyong ate balut or duck egg. Kino never really liked balut saying it was disgusting and gross. But Jeenyong thought otherwise. He ate balut as if it was the most normal food in the world. It was fun to see Jeenyong eat balut. He ate everything. He didn’t get scared of the duck. Good job for him.

Unfortunately, when we got home everybody’s already sleeping so they couldn’t cook for them. Still they cook the pajon and we ate that for dinner.

Later that night, I had to finish something important so I didn’t sleep with them. I had to stay up all the night. I think I was able to take a nap at 5am.
